2019 IEEE CIS & Xiamen University Summer School on Computational Optimization and Learning

Optimization and learning are of significant to both academic and industrial fields of Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The main goal of this summer school is to provide senior undergraduate students, graduate students, as well as researchers from academia and industry with hands-on knowledge on computational optimization and learning, in addition with substantial examples of typical applications.


This summer school aims to introduce the elementary concepts and the state-of-the-art techniques of evolutionary algorithms, multi-task optimization, transfer learning, deep learning, neuromorphic cognitive system, and their inspirations to applying to optimization and learning fields. Through this summer school, we will meet multiple targets which include: (1) promoting the research on computational intelligence (evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy logic, neuromorphic cognitive system, transfer learning, deep learning,  etc.) and their applications in optimization and learning in China, (2) serving existing CIS members, (3) promoting CIS and attracting new members, and (4) attracting industry participants.
